Bambi's Birthday Wish

Updated on January 25, 2011

Bambi's Birthday!

The truth is that once we are all grown up, birthdays just aren't much fun anymore.

You just keep getting older, and birthday cake and balloons just aren't as much fun as they used to be.

Then I saw this idea of making a Squidoo Birthday lens for charity and I thought what a great idea.

So this is my Birthday Wish lens.

Ferrets Unlimited

I chose my Squid friend genglo's charity Ferrets Unlimited partly because she gave me the whole "Birthday Wish Lens" idea...but more importantly, because it's a really great cause.

There are already lots of charities, shelters and rescue resources available for cats & dogs, but ferrets are often the forgotten pet. They are very cute and many people get ferrets for pets only to find out later that they are very high maintenence pets that require a lot of care.

Once these people realize all of the hard work required to take care of a ferret, they abandon these adorable creatures. This is where rescue programs like Ferrets Unlimited step in and try to find new loving homes for these amazing creatures. Please consider making a donation to Ferrets Unlimited today...for my birthday!

Ferrets As Pets

Ferrets make wonderful pets, but do require a lot of care. People really need to educate themselves about ferret care before getting ferrets as pets.

Though ferrets tend to sleep for around 14-16 hours every day, they are very active and require a lot of activity during the hours they are awake.

Ferrets require a special diet that is high in protien to stay healthy and active. When buying ferret food, one must carefully check the labels to make sure that the food is high in meat & protien content.

Ferrets are very curious and will crawl into any hole. Ferret owners need to ferret proof their homes to create a safe living environment for these curious cuties.

Learning all about ferrets before getting one as a pet is always your best bet.
